Typeframe Project License

This project contains different types of work (hardware designs, software, and creative assets), which are licensed differently. Please see the sections below for details.

Hardware, 3D Print Files, and Documentation​

License: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0)

The hardware designs, including all CAD files (.f3z, .step), 3D print files (.stl, .3mf), and project documentation (including photos and guides) are licensed under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

Under this license, you are free to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material.

Under the following terms:

  • Attribution (BY) — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made.
  • NonCommercial (NC) — You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
  • ShareAlike (SA) — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you must distribute your contributions under the same license as the original.

Software​

License: GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0)

All software, including Python scripts (.py), shell scripts (.sh), and any other source code files, are licensed under the GPL-3.0 license.

This license grants you the freedom to run, study, share, and modify the software. If you distribute modified versions of the software, you must also make the source code available under the same license. Please see the full license text for details.

Logo and Branding​

The "Typeframe" name and logo are trademarks of the project.

What is allowed:

  • You are free to use the logo and design elements for personal, non-commercial purposes, such as creating a desktop background, a custom boot screen, or for other personal creative works.

What is not allowed:

  • You may not use the "Typeframe" name or logo to identify, brand, or represent your own projects, products, or services, including forks or derivatives of this project, without explicit written permission.
  • Commercial use of the logo and branding is prohibited.
